Wednesday's night's episode of Love Island saw Irish fans breath a sigh of relief as Galway's Sean Fitzgerald lived to fight another day, having survived the first brutal dumping of the show, amid growing tensions in the villa.
The last two episodes of the show have already seen the first two bombshells of the season, George and Yasmin, try to rip apart the new couples inside the villa. Many fans discovered the pair's mission on the show, having been selected to choose one boy and one girl to dump.
Many fans had already been complaining that Sean Fitzgerald, known as Fitzy, was not given enough screen time on the show.
Tensions began to brew around the fire pit at the villa as remaining contestants watched on as Ellie and Samraj were ultimately dumped from the island.
Thankfully, from an Irish perspective, Galway GAA star Sean Fitzgerald avoided this dumping, despite the chaos which was organised by the newly arrived bombshells of George and Yasmin.
Earlier this week, fans had seen Fitzgerald, who left the Galway senior football panel to join Love Island, getting lucky with one of the other contestants, Lola, a detective, with the pair spotted sharing a kiss on the terrace, with Sean having initially acted as if he did not know why Lola had wanted to go to the terrace.
However, the shock dumping overshadowed this.
While Ellie and Samraj seemed to be sent packing from the villa, viewers were left speculating that maybe their journey on Love Island is not quite over after all. As the episode ended, the pair received a text message, hinting that they could receive a second chance.
