Nicole Kidman is set for a career change which may surprise some people.
The actress, renowned for starring in some of the biggest movies over the last 30 years or so, including, The Others, Moulin Rouge, Eyes Wide Shut, as well as Far and Away with her ex husband Tom Cruise.
Over recent years, Nicole Kidman has experienced some dramatic changes to her life, with the most recent being her finalised divorce from husband Keith Urban which came through in January, after the couple had announced their separation last September after 19 years of marriage.
Prior to that, Kidman's mother Janelle Ann Kidman passed away in 2024.
Since then, Kidman has said that she has been considering a change.
Speaking at a talk at the University of San Francisco, Kidman revealed that she is currently training to become a death doula.
Otherwise known as a death midwife, an end-of-life death doula is a non medical practitioner who provides spiritual or emotional support to the families of those who are dying.
The death of Nicole's parents, had a huge impact on her and her siblings.
"As my mother was passing, she was lonely, and there was only so much the family could provide", Kidman told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Kidman went on to say that the experience of splitting duties with her sister made her think: "I wish there were these people in the world that were there to sit impartially and just provide solace and care".
She added that this will be "part of my expansion and one of the things I will be learning".
However, this does not mean that Nicole Kidman is completely turning her back on acting, having reportedly entered talks to star in an erotic thriller, written by Dylan Brady, close friend of Derry Girls star Nicole Coughlin. Elsewhere, it was announced that Kidman was to star in a new crime thriller, Scarpetta, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as part of a star studded cast.
The thriller is based on American crime writer, Patricia Cornwell's best selling Kay Scarpetta novels, which has sold over 120 million copies worldwide since they arrived on the book shelves in 1990. Other actors featuring include, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, Amanada Righetti, Jake Bannavale, and Hunter Parish. More on this here.
