Noah Kahan has made an unusual plea to fans after learning that one concertgoer reportedly chose not to leave their seat for the toilet rather than risk missing part of his show.
The 29-year-old singer took to X with a tongue-in-cheek message urging fans to make use of venue facilities after hearing about the incident, which allegedly left venue staff to deal with the aftermath.
“If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao,” Kahan wrote.
The singer, known for his self-deprecating humour, went on to acknowledge that embarrassing accidents can happen, but stressed that fans should consider the people working at the venue.
“I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29-year-old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”

According to reports, Kahan became aware of the incident after a fan shared a graphic video of it on social media. He later joked that he had experienced an embarrassing mishap of his own while performing.
“I s** myself onstage in Charlottesville, but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.”*
It's not the first time Kahan has had to issue an unusual request to his fanbase.
Earlier this month, the Stick Season star asked fans to stop stealing a road sign referenced in his song The View Between Villages, after repeated thefts became a problem for the local community.

Kahan's comments also come just weeks after Olivia Rodrigo revealed some of the extraordinary lengths concertgoers will go to in order to secure a good spot at live shows.
Speaking during an appearance on Kiss FM, the singer said she had encountered fans wearing diapers so they would not have to leave the front of the crowd during concerts and festivals.
“I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show,” Rodrigo said.
She added that it was something performers could sometimes detect from the stage.
“That’s been an experience as a performer that I have… smelled.”

Rodrigo also referenced New York City's annual Times Square New Year's Eve celebrations, where crowds often remain in the same place for hours to secure a prime viewing position.
“Everyone is wearing diapers, they sit there all day. I think about it kind of often.”
Both artists' comments have sparked discussion online about concert etiquette, with many fans agreeing that missing a song is preferable to creating an unpleasant experience for fellow audience members—or the venue staff tasked with cleaning up afterwards.
