Disney’s live-action Snow White and the latest remake of War of the Worlds have each received six nominations at the Golden Raspberry Awards. Known as the Razzies, the annual event serves as a tongue-in-cheek counterpart to the Oscars, calling out what voters consider the year’s worst achievements and performances in film. The 46th Razzie ceremony will take place on 14 March, one day before the Academy Awards.
Disney’s Snow White, a 2025 update of the studio’s 1937 animated classic, was nominated for Worst Picture, along with Worst Remake, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay. The fantasy film stars Rachel Zegler in the lead role and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Its seven computer-generated dwarf characters also earned nominations for Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Combo.
Matching Snow White with six nominations, the 2025 science fiction film War of the Worlds also drew heavy Razzie attention. The film stars rapper Ice Cube and actor Eva Longoria and is based on H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel. Its nominations include Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Remake, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Combo.
Other films recognized by Razzie voters include the psychological thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, the sci-fi release Star Trek: Section 31, and Netflix’s action-adventure film The Electric State, which features Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.
According to the Razzie website, more than 1,100 members from across the United States and roughly two dozen other countries participate in the voting process. These voters are part of the Golden Raspberry Foundation, a group made up of film critics and movie industry experts.
