Netflix has announced a new drama series, based on the best selling author of Irish author, Marian Keyes.
The new series, Grown Ups, will follow the chaotic life of the Casey family, who have been described as a "noisy, tight-knit Irish family, who are bound together by a tangled web of loyalty, resentment, money, memory, and love".
In the story, the "good son" dies unexpectedly, which rocks the family to its core, and over the next year, they fall in and out love, relationships, fix old wounds, and even manage to make new ones. As they grieve together, they also face the "exhausting" and "relentless" of adulthood.
Despite their age, the Casey family are not exactly what you would call grown up.
Filming for this project has already began in Dublin, with a star studded cast and sprinkling of familiar faces already announced for this eight part series.
Grown Ups will see Irish comedian Aisling Bea star as Cara, alongside Bad Sisters and Normal People's Sarah Greene, alongside Robert Sheehan, best known for Umbrella Academy, Misfits, and Love Hate. Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar and Horgan's Bad Sister's co star Barry Ward will also feature.
The cast also includes Sinead Cusack, Amy-Leigh Hickman, James Agnew, Katelyn Rose Downey, and Karin Hanczewski.
Marian Keyes, who will serves as executive producer on this project, said: "The filming of Grown Ups has begun in Dublin and it feels like a succession of dreams come true".
She added: "Being part of this, seeing it all come together, has been so exciting and so much fun. I’m honoured by the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, I’m beyond grateful for all the care that’s been taken with my characters, and most of all, I’m enormously proud".
