Aoibhín Garrihy has announced she has completed the New York City marathon - with a new 'personal best.'
The mum-of-four travelled to the US capital to take on the 26.2miles mammoth challenge.
On Sunday, an elated Aoibhín posted with her gold medal after completing the marathon, revealing she also achieved a new personal best.
She wrote: 'BRB…just got a PB in NYC!! 🗽✨❤️🙏🏻'
Aoibhín revealed that when she hit the wall during the run she thought about her children cheering her on to keep her going. Ciara Mageean was also in her thoughts throughout the run.
Aoibhín and her husband John took in the sights days before the marathon.
Their highlights include walking along the Brooklyn Bridge, where she couldn't resist taking some snaps, including one romantic one of her and John posing together.
They also drove across the Queensboro Bridge, and she couldn't contain her excitement that they would get to run over the bridge on Sunday.
Times Square was also a must-visit on her list, and she couldn't contain her excitement, writing: 'honestly, can't really believe I'm here this week.'
