Bord Gáis Energy Theatre announces girl-power line-up for 2026 with Legally Blonde and Mean Girls

Theatre lovers are in for a treat with a whole new host of fantastic shows set to arrive at the Bord Gáis in 2026.

There's something for everyone in the line-up and plenty of feel-good shows to go and see with the girls next summer from Legally Blonde in July to Mean Girls in August and September.

Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre revealed nine new productions in its 2026 line-up today, with some of the best theatrical productions coming to Irish shores next year.

Meanwhile, the hilarious smash-hit musical Mean Girls from writer Tina Fey will make its Irish debut in the Bord Gáis from 25 August to 5 September 2026, as well as the brand-new musical The Ballad Of Johnny And June 31 March to 11 April 2026, celebrating the legendary love story of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.

There'll be more drama with the gripping psychological thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley coming to the Bord Gáis next spring, and running from 10 to the 14 March 2026.

If you need something a little more light-hearted, British comedy takes centre stage during the summer with The Last Laugh running from 21 to 25 July 2026, and the stage adaptation of the cult classic Fawlty Towers, written by John Cleese, running from 28 July to 1 August 2026.

Alongside the wonderful theatre and musicals, there's some magnificent dance troupes coming to Dublin from the globally adored Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, an all-male drag comic ballet company, returning on the 30 April and 1 May 2026, in partnership with Dublin Dance Festival, as well as Chile’s acclaimed Ballet De Santiago performing their rendition of Swan Lake from the 18 to the 23 August 2026.

There'll be plenty more to look forward to in 2026, as these nine productions joing a stellar lineup already confirmed for the year ahead including the epic musical Miss Saigon running from 13 to 17 January, the Hollywood charm of Top Hat from 27 to 31 January, and Aaron Sorkin’s acclaimed stage adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird from 10 to 21 February. Opera lovers can enjoy Irish National Opera’s Rusalka from 22 to 28 March, while The Shawshank Redemption brings powerful drama from 21 to 25 April.

Later in the year, Barnum runs from 14 to 18 April, Melissa Hamilton performs on 8 and 9 May, Waitress takes the stage from 19 to 23 May, Priscilla Queen of the Desert is running from 8 to 13 June, The Bodyguard arrives from 4 to 8 August, Annie runs from 11 to 16 August, and Matilda the Musical will entertain audiences from 15 September to 18 October and the year rounds off with the uplifting Choir of Man from 10 to 14 November.

With a theatre line-up like this, we can be sure that we're going to be entertained at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in 2026! Tickets for these nine newly announced productions will go on sale here at 9am on Friday, 14 November.
