Wicklow has just become the luckiest county in Ireland, with not one but two locals winning big EuroDreams prizes in Monday night’s draw. One very fortunate online player made history by becoming the first Irish winner of the top prize, bagging €20,000 a month for the next 30 years — that’s a cool €7.2 million in total, all tax-free and trickling in every month like the best direct debit you could ever dream of.
But the celebrations didn’t stop there. Another Wicklow player, who bought a Quick Pick ticket at SuperValu in Bray’s Castle Street Shopping Centre, also struck gold by landing the Tier 2 prize of €2,000 a month for five years. The shop staff were buzzing, with store manager Tanya McGarry saying the entire community was talking about it and that it felt “incredible” knowing their store had sold such a life-changing ticket.
Since EuroDreams launched in 2023, Ireland has had seven Tier 2 winners, but this is the very first time an Irish player has hit the jackpot. The winning numbers for Monday’s draw were 1, 3, 5, 11, 20, 31 and the Dream number was 5 — digits that will now go down in Wicklow history.
A National Lottery spokesperson described the draw as “truly historic”, with both winners already in touch with the Prize Claims team and set to visit Lottery HQ soon.
