The spell of exceptional weather has come to an end in Galway, with the warm conditions and extended high-temperature weather alerts now over.
The best of Monday’s sunshine will arrive in the morning, with temperatures expected to reach 25C.
Nighttime temperatures are expected to be a lot lower, as Met Éireann have predicted the temperatures to drop as low as 10C.
From Tuesday onwards weather conditions are expected to return to Ireland's normal with rain forecasted for the rest of the week.
“Cloud will extend from the northwest through the morning bringing a little drizzle though it will remain mostly sunny in the south and southeast. Better sunny spells will develop through the afternoon and evening though it will remain mostly cloudy in the north and northwest. Cooler again in the north and northwest with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees. Warmer further south and east with highest temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees. Light, occasionally moderate north to northwest breezes," Met Éireann predicts for tomorrow.
Wednesday's forecast doesn't differ too much. Met Éireann predict: “A similar day with most places away from the south becoming cloudy for a time in the morning with a little drizzle possible. The cloud will be most persistent in the northwest through the day with sunny spells developing elsewhere. Highest temperatures ranging from 17 to 19 degrees in the northwest to 24 or 25 degrees in the southeast, all in light to moderate north to northwest winds.”
