Britney Spears has said that she will "never perform in the US again" in a cryptic social media post which suggested that her next public performance would take place in the UK.

The singer shared this post on social media earlier this week, alongside a photo of herself sitting on stage beside a white piano. In the caption, Spears reflected on her time in the public eye, and ruled out performing live on American soil.

“I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons", Spears wrote. “But I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son … in the UK and Australia very soon. He’s a huge star, and I’m so humbled to be in his presence!!! Godspeed, little man!!!”.

At the time of writing, Britney Spears has not share any details of any possible shows in the UK or Australia, while no dates have been listed on ticket-selling sites. See her post in full here.

Spears has not performed in the US since October 2018, which saw her perform her 'Piece of Me' tour in Austin. She had been scheduled to play a second Las Vegas residency in 2019, titled, 'Domination'. However, she postponed these shows as she began to take a step back from music.

Elsewhere, Britney Spears also spoke about sharing videos of herself dancing on Instagram, saying that the dances “heal things in my body that people have no idea about".

Having returned to the app after previously deleting her account, Spears wrote: “Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes … but I walked through the fire to save my life".

This comes just days after the organisers of Rio de Janeiro's annual free Copacabana Beach concert had revealed that they were actively trying to bring Spears to their stage for their 2026 show. The show has previously featured high profile performances from Madonna and Lady Gaga. More on this story here.

Back in October, Britney Spears' ex husband Kevin Federline has claimed that a phone called with his alleged drunken ex wife was the "last straw" in their marriage. Federline had claimed in his new memoir that Spears put her social life and partying ahead of their children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are aged 19 and 20 respectively.

Federline also claimed that Spears had even used cocaine while she was breastfeeding the children, and had been drinking alcohol while she was pregnant and on medication. More on this story here.
