Mary J. Blige had a few choice words for a heckler at her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday night, making it clear that she would not tolerate anyone disrupting her performance.

The singer stopped to address the audience member after hearing them booing from the crowd, delivering a blunt response that quickly went viral.

“To the bitch that’s booing, you didn’t have to come here,” she said in video footage obtained by TMZ. “So I hope someone sees you and politely removes you. The f--- are you spending your money for? Idiot!”

Turning her attention back to the rest of the audience, the 55-year-old then apologised for the interruption, adding: “I'm sorry. Sometimes I have to go in.”

She didn't let the incident spoil the night, however, and soon got back to the music, bringing out special guest Wyclef Jean to perform their 2000 hit 911 together.

The unexpected moment provided a highlight for fans, with footage of the exchange quickly circulating online.
