Rod Stewart has added an extra date at Dublin's 3Arena due to phenomenal demand.

In what is set to be his final ever tour, the singer has already announced dates at the 3Arena and Belfast's SSE Arena on the 23rd and 27th April respectively, as part of The Final Encore tour next Spring, supported by singer/songwriter, Howard Jones as special guest.

Now, Stewart has announced an extra date at the Dublin venue for April 24 next year, with tickets going up for sale next Thursday (October 8) at 10am via Ticketmaster, which was confirmed by Aiken Promotions.

Confirming these dates originally, Rod Stewart released this statement: "My dear friends, the time has come to say farewell to life on the road. After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last. I've been singing the music I love since I was 19 years old, and I've had the privilege of taking it around the world to all of you".

"It has given me a life beyond anything I could ever have imagined, and I hope I've given you some fond memories in return. So, may I take this opportunity to thank you for making this extraordinary life possible. I hope you'll join me so I can thank you the best way I know how… with the music and one hell of a show".

Back in July, Rod Stewart announced that he was to become a grandad again, after his daughter Kimberly revealed that she was expecting her third child.

Kimberly, whose mother Alana was married to Rod Stewart from 1979 to 1984, gave birth to her first child, Delilah in 2011, and welcomed her second child last year.

Delilah's father is actor Benicio del Toro, who had a brief relationship with Kimberly in 2010. The socialite has also been romantically linked to Cisco Adler, Scott Discik, and was also engaged to Laguna Beach's Talan Torriero in 2005. More on this here.
