Friends star, Lisa Kudrow is set to reprise her role in the long awaited sequel to, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.
The 1997 film, saw Kudrow star alongside Mira Sorvino, with the pair playing best friends Romy and Michele, as they return home for a school reunion, only to invent elaborate lies in an attempt to impress their former classmates and peers.
Now, 20th Century Studios confirmed that a sequel is in the works, sharing a post showing Kudrow and Sorvino in costume as they sit in director's chairs featuring the names Romy and Michele.
"The reunion you’ve been waiting for! The Romy and Michele sequel is now in production", the post read.
In the comments' section, Sorvino said: "It’s finally happening. Bursting with joy to be 'reunited!’".
Along with Kudrow and Sorvino, the comedy also featured Janeane Garofalo and Alan Cumming, as well as a cameo performance from Justin Theroux. The film is to see Garofalo and Cumming reprise their roles, along with Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell, with Robin Schiff to return as screenwriter.

This comes after Kudrow recently spoke about her friendships with former Friends co stars Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston has evolved after the comedy ended in 2004.
Kudrow starred in the sitcom as Phoebe Buffay, alongside Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), as well as Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Joe Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc), and Chandler Bing, played by the late Matthew Perry.
Having been working on the final season of The Comeback, Kudrow recently revealed to Aniston that she has been fully immersed in writing and production, explaining she is “so single-focused” and that it had been “a lot of work”. Find out more on this story here.
