Quentin Tarantino and Kylie Minogue are set to star together in a new film, in a surprise collaboration that has already sparked major interest across the entertainment world.

The project, which is currently untitled, is being directed by Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams and has reportedly already begun filming in Porthcawl, Wales, according to Variety.

While full plot details are being kept firmly under wraps, early reports suggest the production includes scenes set around a funeral and wake, hinting at a dramatic or possibly darkly comedic storyline. Neither the film’s title nor its official synopsis has yet been released.

The pairing of Tarantino and Minogue has caught attention due to their vastly different backgrounds.

Tarantino, best known for directing cult classics such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation. His involvement in front of the camera, rather than behind it, is likely to intrigue fans.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue, meanwhile, has built a decades-long career as one of Australia’s biggest pop exports, while also maintaining a strong acting presence since her early days on Neighbours. In recent years, she has balanced music success with selective screen appearances, making this latest role a notable addition to her film work.

The cast also includes Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell, Siwan Morris and Karen Paullada, with Paullada sharing behind-the-scenes images from the Welsh set on Instagram.

However, neither Tarantino nor Minogue have appeared in any publicly released set photos so far, adding to the secrecy surrounding the project.

Director Jamie Adams, known for his improvisational filmmaking style, has previously worked on independent productions that often rely on natural performances and loosely structured scripts.

That approach could explain the limited information available about the storyline at this stage of production.

Most recently, Kylie Minogue revealed she secretly battled cancer for a second time in 2021, admitting the diagnosis left her feeling like “a shell of a person.”

The Australian pop icon opened up about the previously undisclosed health battle in her new three-part Netflix documentary KYLIE, which premiered this April.

The singer, now 57, said she chose to keep the diagnosis private while undergoing treatment, unlike her highly publicised breast cancer battle in 2005.

“My second cancer diagnosis was in early 2021,” Minogue revealed in the documentary.

“I was able to keep that to myself … Not like the first time.”

The star explained that she struggled for years to tell fans what had happened, particularly as she was privately dealing with the emotional toll of the illness during a major career resurgence.

“I’ve been trying to find the right time to say it,” she said.

“I don’t feel obliged to tell the world and actually, I just couldn’t at the time because I was just a shell of a person.”

“I didn’t want to leave the house again at one point.”

Minogue said she was diagnosed during a routine check-up and has now recovered.

“Thankfully, I got through it. Again. And all is well,” she said.
