Two men who died in separate road collisions in Tipperary and Cork this week were named locally as another community is plunged into grief following another death in Meath yesterday.
In Cork, 51 year old Rory Ross died following a road crash, while in Tipperary, Eddie Murphy, aged in his 60s was killed in a four vehicle collision, which involved a van and three cars along the R688 at Cooper's Lot close to Cashel at approximately 5.40pm on Monday.
It was also reported in the Irish Sun that the van driver, aged in his 40s, also suffered serious injuries in the crash, and was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel for treatment.
Mr Murphy's body was brought to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford for a post mortem examination.
It was reported that Mr Murphy, who was originally from Dombane, near Thurles, was a resident at Holycross in Tipperary, and a twin, who had recently celebrated his mother Teresa's 100th birthday in July.
Meanwhile, Rory Ross, was found dead by a bystander in a poorly lit area of the Lee Road near Cork City, with investigators believing he died instantly after his van went off the road, which may have taken place on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Elsewhere, another road accident claimed the life of a man on the M4 in Co Meath on Tuesday afternoon. It is believed to taken place at around 2.30 pm on the M4 westbound at Junction 9 Enfield.
It was also revealed that one of the drivers of the two vehicles involved, also caused the death of a man in his 30s. The victim's body was later removed to the local mortuary and a post mortem examination due to take place, while the coroner was also informed.
A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Following these accidents, Gardaí have issued an appeal for witness to come forward.
Regarding Mr Murphy's accident, they are seeking for road users to speak to “road users who were travelling in the area of Cooper’s Lot, Cashel, Co Tipperary between 5.00pm and 6.00pm on Monday 14 September 2026 and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam)”.

On Mr Ross' fatal crash, they appealed for “road users who were travelling on Lee Road, Cork, Co Cork between 10:00pm on Monday 14 September and 2:10am on Tuesday 15 September 2026 and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam)” to make it available to them".
The added: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Gurranabraher Garda Station on (021) 494 6200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station".
Speaking the fatal accident on the M4 in Meath, they added: “road users who were travelling on Lee Road, Cork, Co Cork between 10:00pm on Monday 14 September and 2:10am on Tuesday 15 September 2026 and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam)” to make it available to them.
