Lewis Capaldi became emotional during his headline performance at BST Hyde Park, telling fans he was unsure whether he would ever be able to perform live again after his Tourette's syndrome diagnosis.
The Scottish singer took to the stage in London last Saturday night and reflected on his journey over the past few years, including taking time away from music to focus on his mental health.
Capaldi paused during his performance as he spoke about returning to the stage.
"To be here with you all and to be able to..." he said, before becoming overwhelmed and taking a moment to compose himself.
After gathering himself, he told the crowd:
"I didn't know if this would be possible again so to be here it's really special for me!"

The singer stepped back from performing after his emotional appearance at Glastonbury Festival in 2023, where he told fans he was taking time away to focus on his wellbeing and adjust to the impact of his Tourette's diagnosis.
He later made his return to the festival's iconic Pyramid Stage in 2024 before heading out on a 17-date UK and Ireland arena tour.
During his BST Hyde Park show, Capaldi also joked with fans and asked them to stay until the end of his set, after joking that some members of the crowd might leave to watch the England football match.

The concert was also streamed worldwide for free, giving fans around the world the chance to watch the sold-out London performance live on YouTube on Saturday, July 11.
The BST Hyde Park show marked Capaldi's biggest headline performance to date and formed part of his major UK and Ireland tour this summer.
Capaldi has already completed his Irish dates for 2026, including outdoor shows at Marlay Park, Dublin, on June 23 and 24, and Thomond Park, Limerick, on June 26.
He is next scheduled to perform in Ireland at Belfast Vital on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
